Police have reported that a male, 29, was taken into custody on Monday for allegedly attempting to murder someone in a shooting that occurred on Denver’s Auraria Campus. The suspect, identified as Aaron Verner, is facing charges of attempted murder and assault after shooting an Auraria Campus police officer in the arm, according to the Denver Police Department. The incident took place at approximately 1:18 a.m. on Monday when two Auraria Campus police officers approached an individual who was in the process of breaking into a car, as stated in a news release from the campus police department.
