Media day for the Colorado Avalanche had a sense of familiarity, as the top players and coach Jared Bednar were once again fielding questions about Valeri Nichushkin. This time last year, Nichushkin had left the team during their first-round playoff loss to the Seattle Kraken. While he is not the only key forward unavailable at the start of training camp, he remains a central topic of discussion as he serves a suspension through at least mid-November.
