Brighton, a city located primarily in Adams County, is set to become more environmentally friendly. In a 7-2 vote, the Brighton City Council approved an ordinance that will allow for the opening of four recreational marijuana shops. Two of these licenses will be reserved for social equity applicants, and applications will be accepted starting on March 1. This marks the first time that Brighton, which has been legalizing recreational marijuana for 10 years and medical marijuana for 20 years, will permit cannabis businesses within its city limits. However, the city still prohibits cultivation and manufacturing businesses. To learn more, visit DenverPost.com.
