Honoring Our Veterans: How the Cannabis Industry is Providing Support and Community
Every November, Americans pause to pay tribute to those who have served in the military. These brave individuals have stood watch in silence, carried both pride and pain with them, and continue to serve in various ways even after their military careers have ended. However, for many veterans, returning home can be a difficult battle in itself. Whether it’s finding purpose in civilian life, rebuilding their identity, or dealing with the invisible scars of war, the transition can be challenging.
But in a surprising and welcome turn, the cannabis industry has become a place where many veterans are finding not just healing, but also a sense of purpose. This Veterans Day, several cannabis brands are showing what true gratitude looks like by providing support and community to those who have served.
Crafted by Veterans, For Veterans
In Colorado, Missouri, Ohio, and Massachusetts, Dialed In Gummies is celebrating Veterans Day with the launch of their limited edition “DD214 Batch.” This batch is named after the official discharge form that every service member receives upon completing their time in the military. The gummies are infused with a Berry Swirl Hybrid flavor and 10mg of full-spectrum solventless rosin THC per gummy, all crafted by veterans on the Dialed In team.
Spencer Beymer, a U.S. Air Force Senior Airman and Field Service Manager at Dialed In Gummies, explains that the DD214 batch was inspired by the veterans on their team. It’s a tribute to their journey and the discipline and teamwork they bring every day. Each package also includes a handwritten note from Beymer, adding a personal touch to the product. And with $1 from every unit sold being donated to veteran-focused organizations, the gesture goes beyond just symbolism.
Max Vansluys, President of Dialed In Gummies, emphasizes the importance of veterans to their company. He states, “Our veterans are part of our DNA. Their integrity and drive inspire how we work every day. DD214 lets us honor their service while also helping others through a cause that deeply matters to us.”
Service, Reimagined in Nevada
In Nevada, Deep Roots Harvest and The Source are using Veterans Day to further their longstanding commitments to those who have served. From November 8th to 11th, all veterans and retired service members will receive a 40% discount on purchases. But the real impact lies in what happens behind the scenes. Both companies are donating $1,000 each to several community organizations, including the Southern Nevada Veterans Chamber of Commerce, Daughters of the American Revolution—Flags over Mesquite, Historic Wendover Airfield, and VFW Pot 10054 in Pahrump.
Jon Marshall, Chief Operating Officer at Deep Roots Harvest, explains that the initiative is not only about honoring veterans but also about providing ongoing support. He says, “We are privileged to honor those who have sacrificed so much for this country. We also have multiple veteran employees on our team, and we are proud to support organizations that help veterans transition back to civilian life.”
