In Denver’s Alamo Placita neighborhood, a row of brick and stucco homes lines the street. Along the sidewalk, there is a small window built into a backyard fence, with two makeshift stone steps leading up to it. Passersby may notice the clucking of hens and their heads poking out between the wooden lattice, hoping for treats. A hand-painted sign announces the “Chicken Window Happy Hour” at 5 p.m. on Thursdays. The birds and the elegant house next to the coop are cared for by Peter Thulson, a third-generation Denver resident. The Denver Post captured a photo of a chicken peering through the fence window on June 20, 2024. To read more about this story, visit TheKnow.DenverPost.com.
