The good news is that you will have an extra hour of sleep, but the bad news is that it will be dark earlier in the afternoon for the next few months in the U.S. Daylight saving time will end at 2 a.m. local time on Sunday, so remember to set your clock back an hour before going to bed. Standard time will be in effect until March 9, when we will “spring forward” and return to daylight saving time. However, this change can be challenging for your body. The darker mornings and lighter evenings can disrupt your internal body clock, making it difficult to fall asleep at the right time for several weeks or even longer. In fact, studies have shown an increase in heart attacks and strokes immediately after the March time change.
