While not as contentious as issues like abortion or immigration, the legalization of marijuana has still been addressed by both presidential candidates, former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris, who surprisingly share the same stance. However, their viewpoints overlook a crucial aspect. In a recent post on the Truth Social platform, Trump stated his belief in ending unnecessary arrests and imprisonment of adults for possessing small amounts of marijuana for personal use. He also emphasized the need for sensible regulations and access to safe and tested products for adults. As a resident of Florida, he plans to vote in favor of Amendment 3 this November and, if elected, will prioritize research on the medical benefits of marijuana and push for laws that support state autonomy, such as safe banking for authorized companies.
