A previous attorney, Sean O’Donovan, was convicted of attempting to bribe the Medford police chief in order to obtain city approval for a marijuana dispensary. O’Donovan, a 56-year-old resident of Somerville, was given a two-year prison sentence and three years of supervised release. He was also required to pay a $150,000 fine.
