Joint for Life: Alison Brie and Dave Franco Gave Weed to Their Wedding Guests
That’s right, folks. Weed has officially gone mainstream. It’s no longer just for the counterculture or rebellious youth. Dare we say, it’s becoming a normie thing? Of course, it’s still illegal in way too many places, but in those lucky areas where it’s legal to light up, marijuana is quickly becoming a part of everyday life. In fact, it’s become so mainstream that cannabis-themed weddings are now a thing. And we’re not just talking about a few token joints passed around. We’re talking full-on weed giveaways for guests. But before you get too excited, let’s make one thing clear: giving weed to guests without their knowledge or consent is not cool. It’s not only morally wrong, but it can also be dangerous. So, we definitely don’t recommend it.
But let’s focus on the positive. One example of this trend is the recent wedding of actors Alison Brie and Dave Franco. The couple, currently promoting their new horror film Together, recently shared some details about their 2017 nuptials in an interview with Variety. After a small, intimate ceremony with family, the couple threw a party for 60 of their friends at Pizzeria Mozza. And along with the pizza, there was free weed. “We wanted people to let loose and go crazy. Much more than they did,” Franco said. “We were handing out weed pens, which just led to everyone bringing home multiple to-go pizzas.” Brie added, “That was our parting gift. Personal pizzas.”
Ah, the munchies. The ultimate side effect of cannabis. And what better way to satisfy those cravings than with free pizza? It’s no wonder the couple considers their wedding to be perfect. They didn’t need a grand ceremony or extravagant decorations. All they needed was the company of their loved ones, some delicious pizza, and some good ol’ weed. “We did it exactly how we wanted,” Franco said. “In a cheesy way, that ended up being one of the best days of our lives.”
And really, what more could you ask for in life? Good company, good food, and good weed. It’s a recipe for a perfect wedding. So, here’s to Alison Brie and Dave Franco for showing us that sometimes, the simplest things in life can bring the most joy. And to all the future couples out there, maybe consider adding some weed to your wedding plans. Just make sure your guests are on board first.
